Yuko Nagayama & Associates Presents the Teardrops Structures

Architecture firm Yuko Nagayama & Associates produces the new clear teardrops structures that are hidden in the depths of birch trees in the forests of Hokuto City, Japan. The camping grounds are transformed into this artistic space with the goal of creating an unobstructed view of the surrounding greenery.

The firm scanned the area in a three-dimensional perspective and then decided the best approach was to look up at the treetops and design a structure connected to the canopy. It is also made to ensure that it reflects the greenery of the trees as it travels upwards, thus, creating a conical shape. The tents can be used for sleeping, lounging, hanging out, and much more.
