The Telepresence Observation Pavilion is a conceptual structure that replaces a traditional observation tower with a camera mounted on a telescoping mast. Instead of lifting visitors upward, the design sends a 360-degree camera above the site and streams live panoramic imagery into an enclosed viewing room at ground level. The interior is arranged as a circular space lined with screens that display real-time visuals and sound, creating the experience of height while keeping visitors stationary.
The mast rises through the pavilion roof and is structurally anchored to the base, allowing the camera to reach significant elevation without requiring large vertical construction. Power for the camera, screens, and lighting is supplied by solar panels integrated around a central skylight. The system also allows multiple elevated viewpoints to be shared or switched remotely, enabling observation across different locations while reducing material use and site impact compared to conventional lookout structures.
