The Rouge Dior Range Was Refreshed After an Extensive Lip Color Study

"Nude" colors aren't universally applicable as different women require distinct skin tone shades to accentuate their unique features and complement their beauty, and the reimagined Rouge Dior lipstick range represents this. "I wanted to go in deep into what is a nude lip for women because still, for a lot of people, the idea of a nude is a beige, which is not correct worldwide," the creative and image director of Dior makeup, Peter Philips, explained to Elle.

Across three continents, the brand conducted a study analyzing the natural lip color of more than 500 women in France, China and the United States. As a result, some shades in the range were fine-tuned and others were created from scratch, like 500, deep ebony.
