Canon Releases The Worlds Longest RF-Mounted Lenses

Canon, the iconic Japanese consumer electronics company, has officially released its two longest RF-mounted lenses yet: the RF 800mm F5.6 L IS USM and the RF 1,200mm F8 L IS USM.

The RF 800mm features a shorter 2.6-meter focusing distance with a close-up magnification of 0.34x and 4.5 stops of shake correction. Meanwhile, the RF 1,200mm offers users a slightly further minimum focus of 4.3 meters with 4.0 stops of shake correction. In addition, users will have the option to extend both models even further with a Canon-made extender. For example, the RF 1,200mm can be extended to an impressive 2,400mm. Moreover, both models feature incredibly lightweight designs at just 6.9 and 7.4 pounds, respectively.

The RF-mounted lenses will officially drop this May, where they will retail on Adorama at a starting price $17,000.
