Barcelona design studio H3O introduces its latest project in which it designed the interiors for the Relámpago House. It was once a barn with a barrel-vaulted ceiling. It is inspired by a lightning bolt, which actually struck the building many years ago.
The design references this on the basis of the family legend where the homeowners' ancestors had survived a strike that entered the chimney and only narrowly avoided the family members. The studio explains the design concept to Dezeen, "Transforming a story into architecture seemed to us a fascinating and fun challenge. This geometry choice is not random – it emulates the unpredictable trajectory and rapid dispersion of a lightning bolt's energy." The studio adds three walls intersecting one another shaped like lightning bolts to reflect this.
