No one has ever accused the Volkswagen Passat of being too much fun, but that could change once the Passat GT is released. The German automaker is preparing to introduce a performance trim level of its mid-size sedan in the U.S. Since the car is built for performance it'll have a sport-tuned suspension and likely a few aerodynamic body bits. But there will not be a new engine under the hood of the Passat GT. Instead it'll be offered with the 280-hp V6 found in the existing model.
In addition to a new exterior look expect the Passat GT to come with an upscale and sporty interior. Pricing has not been announced but expect the new trim to sit at the top of the model's range.
