The KLH Model Four is a three-way floorstanding loudspeaker designed for rooms where speaker placement options are limited. The KLH Model Four uses the company’s acoustic suspension cabinet design, a sealed enclosure approach that helps maintain consistent bass performance when positioned near walls.
The speaker is intended to sit between the smaller Model Three and larger Model Five within KLH’s lineup, offering full-range performance in a more compact format. A three-position Acoustic Balance Control switch allows users to adjust the sound profile to suit different listening environments.
The speaker combines an 8-inch pulp-paper woofer, a 4-inch pulp-paper midrange driver, and a 1-inch aluminum dome tweeter. KLH pairs the drivers with a reinforced sealed cabinet finished in wood veneer and a knit grille. Available finishes include English Walnut, Black Ash, and White Oak. A matching angled riser stand is included with each speaker and is designed to optimize driver alignment for seated listening.

KLH's Model Four Brings Acoustic Suspension Tech to Smaller Spaces
Trend Themes
-
Compact Acoustic-suspension Revival — High-fidelity sealed-enclosure designs scaled down for smaller form factors enable consistent low-frequency performance in room-constrained environments, suggesting new product classes that prioritize bass fidelity without large cabinets.
-
Adaptive Acoustic Profiling — On-device selectable tuning switches and profile adjustments for varied room placements indicate a shift toward configurable sound signatures tailored to different listening contexts and furniture layouts.
-
Mixed-material Driver Optimization — Combinations of pulp-paper woofers, midrange cones, and lightweight metal tweeters point to driver-material hybridization trends that balance warmth, clarity, and cost in compact full-range loudspeakers.
Industry Implications
-
Home Audio Equipment — Demand for floorstanding-quality performance in smaller footprints signals opportunities for speaker manufacturers to reengineer cabinetry, driver arrays, and crossover networks for urban and multiuse living spaces.
-
Interior Design & Furniture — Speakers finished in wood veneers and integrated riser stands reflect a convergence of audio products with room aesthetics, creating potential for furniture-integrated acoustic solutions that prioritize alignment and visual cohesion.
-
Consumer Electronics Manufacturing — The emphasis on compact, full-range systems with selectable acoustic settings suggests manufacturing innovations around assembly precision, materials sourcing, and modular component platforms for scalable product lines.
