American furniture imprint Coalesse has launched a special seating collection by architect Jean Nouvel. The seating was unveiled during the ICFF Furniture Fair and defined by its shape. It boasts a curved structure that holds the sitter and is modular for versatile configurations in a space.
The capsule is made up of a fully upholstered lounge chair, ottoman, sofa, and a tete-a-tete bench. Jean Nouvel explains, "The key word in my work is elementary. The elementary quality I seek has nothing to do with minimalism or brutalism: it involves ambiguity and complexity. The simpler an object looks, the more obvious or familiar, the harder it is to make, the more emotion it offers and the better it stands the test of time."
