Spanish interiors firm Isern Serra has just renovated an apartment located in Barcelona. The space is made with monochrome micro-cement surfaces, followed by bold collectible design items that form a gallery-like feeling. The renovation opens up the home, which used to be compartmentalized. The home is just by Barceloneta, so it was important to welcome in the connection between the spaces and natural lighting.
Founder of the studio, Isern Serra explained, "The apartment already had large windows that welcomed the morning sun. From the start, I knew the main room and the kitchen had to be where the light enters and brings the space to life. We wanted to create a sense of continuity – a material language that flows through the entire space. The use of one single material surface gave the space a soft yet grounded quality, connecting everything like a thread that holds the home's soul together."
