The Hound Lounge chair has been designed by Hopkins Architects as a multifunctional furniture solution for dog owners to provide them with a spot to relax and unwind with their pooch.
The chair maintains an ultra-modern design that includes elegant curves and precision detailing, which combine to create a furniture piece suited for any living space. The piece features a seating section for a human, while a dome-shaped section on the lower righthand section offers the perfect spot for small to medium-sized dogs to hide out. Winner of a third-place award at Barkitecture 2023, the chair raised £1,800 for charity.
Hopkins Architects commented on the Hound Lounge chair saying, "By combining the kennel and armchair both occupants are afforded the same level of comfort and luxury. The design features a zero waste monocoque plywood construction contributed to an affordable, lightweight easy-assembly kennel for the contemporary dog around town."
