Fishing Nets & Ropes are Repurposed in Dantoy's Blue Marine Toys

Dantoy's Blue Marine toys helps to give new life to discarded maritime gear materials like fishing nets, ropes and trawls in the form of toys for playing in the water and sand. The brightly colored toys have unique hues and textures, and as Inge S. Knakkergaard Quality and Environmental co-ordinator at Dantoy, describes, "It is exciting and challenging to make colour mixes from fishing nets that have a dark green color as their base material. You have to think differently to achieve the different shades."

In 2018, Dantoy's Bio-line made from sugar cane was introduced, followed by the 2020 Green Bean line with products made from internal waste. In 2021, the company launched a Take Back strategy and in 2022, the Blue Marine Toys represent the company's latest sustainability initiative.
