Connectome Opened a First-of-Its-Kind Destination in London

Wearables, blood panels and lab tests have made various aspects of physical health easy to measure, but the brain has been left behind, largely overlooked and underoptimized, but Connectome is determined to bring the same level of insight and care to cognitive health as to the body. The startup is working with researchers at Imperial College London to bring brain health monitoring to consumers, and it recently opened the doors to a brain performance clinic in Soho, London. "HRV and VO2 max exist for the cardiovascular system. Dexa scans measure muscle mass. Now brain measurement is possible too," said Lucas Scherdel, Co-Founder and CEO of Connectome. "The brain is the largest untapped source of peak performance and longevity, and you can’t take care of what you can’t clearly see or reliably measure."

At this first-of-its-kind destination in the UK, individuals or organizations looking to support their athletes, members, or patients can book a scan, get insights into their cognitive performance, and track changes over time.

Trend Themes

  1. Cognitive Performance Tracking — Consumer-grade brain scans and longitudinal dashboards are extending quantified-self culture into attention, memory, resilience, and cognitive longevity.
  2. Preventive Brain Health — New clinic models are reframing neurological care around early measurement and optimization rather than late-stage diagnosis and treatment.
  3. Executive Neuro-wellness — Workplace and elite-performance programs are incorporating brain metrics as premium benefits for leaders, athletes, and high-demand teams.

Industry Implications

  1. Health Diagnostics — Advanced imaging, biomarkers, and AI interpretation are creating new service categories for routine cognitive assessment outside traditional hospitals.
  2. Corporate Wellness — Employers are gaining access to brain performance data that can expand wellness offerings beyond fitness, stress, and sleep programs.
  3. Sports Performance — Teams and training facilities can pair cognitive monitoring with physical metrics to better understand recovery, focus, and peak performance readiness.
