The Packaging for Mentos Gum is 90% Paper & Ready to Recycle

Mentos gum is being shared with the world in more environmentally friendly packaging that's 90% paper-based and
friendlier for curbside recycling. A partnership with Graphic Packaging International made this new packaging design possible, thanks to the implementation of Boardio fiber-based material, which interweaves small layers of aluminum and polyethylene into virgin fiber material. Although not entirely free from aluminum or plastic, the packaging incorporates these materials for the purposes of ensuring safety and freshness of the Mentos product.

The paper-based packaging is easy to identify thanks to a green seal on the front label and the product is dispensed via the top of the tube after a sticker is removed.

These new paper-based chewing gum tubes are being rolled out at thousands of Walmart locations, as well as online.
