The Apple AirTag now has a longer range and louder alerts improves item finding by introducing stronger tracking and sound performance while retaining the compact form and pricing of the original accessory. The updated AirTag uses an upgraded Ultra Wideband chip alongside a more powerful Bluetooth radio to extend the Precision Finding range by up to around 50 percent compared with the previous generation, allowing users to locate misplaced keys, bags, or luggage from greater distances using visual, haptic, and audio cues within the Find My app.
In addition to an expanded range, the AirTag’s built-in speaker has been enhanced to produce louder audio alerts and a distinctive new chime that can be heard from farther away, helping signal the location of a lost item more clearly. The new AirTag remains compatible with existing accessories and retains over a year of battery life with a replaceable coin cell. It supports Precision Finding from both iPhone and select Apple Watch models and integrates with Apple’s wider Find My network to assist tracking even when an AirTag is out of direct range.
