Statehood-Celebrating Stamp Designs

USPS Marks a 150 Years of Colorado Statehood

The United States Postal Service (USPS) has issued a commemorative postage stamp marking the sesquicentennial of Colorado statehood. The design of the stamp features a scenic wilderness photograph by John Fielder, named 'Foggy Jagged Mountain, Weminuche Wilderness.'

The Colorado statehood-celebrating postage stamp issue event was held at the History Colorado Center in Denver, and it was launched in conjunction with the opening of an exhibition titled 'Mountains Majesty: On the Summit with John Fielder.'

Amber McReynolds, chairwoman of the USPS Board of Governors, shared that: "The new Colorado Statehood stamp captures a glimpse of the majestic beauty of our 38th state so it can be shared and enjoyed by all of us across the country. As a Colorado resident, I see a state that embodies its pioneer spirit and comes together with a palpable sense of cooperation and community.”
