Renovated Rural Farmhouses

A Place in the Country renovates a 17th-century farmhouse in the Kent countryside by reworking internal rooms and adding new built-in elements across the four bedroom layout. The project retains original structural components while introducing contemporary finishes and functional updates. Interior changes include a gold leaf drinks cabinet, an oak-lined reading area, a chrome yellow cooker hood, and a crimson balcony bar set within the existing building shell. The design also incorporates new ceiling treatments and sculptural fittings installed throughout the communal spaces.

The renovation adds activity-specific zones such as a small gym set within a glazed room that links interior and exterior areas. Updated flooring, joinery, and color treatments unify the circulation between rooms. The work preserves the farmhouse’s historic structure while accommodating current residential use through reconfigured layouts and integrated storage.
