Top 100 Jewelry Trends of 2012

Speaking to the crafty nature of consumers these days, this year's jewelry trends showed a strong and clear focus on pieces that were either DIY projects, or made to look like they were.

Unusual materials, whether it be spandex or bullets, helped to create an interesting and strong look to accessories, and were worked into necklaces, earrings, bracelets and more.

In terms of the actual jewelry pieces being made, new styles like nail rings and ear cuffs gained a lot of attention throughout the year. Ear cuffs are particularly appealing to customers because many of them don't require ears to be pierced.
