Unfortunately, accordions and players of the accordion have been stuck with the stereotype of being nerdy. I think it has something to do with the slowness of it. You can’t bust out a super sick accordion solo like you can with drums or guitar. Well, I guess you could, but the absurdity of this would cause widespread confusion.

There is one exception to the accordion rule, and that is Italy. An accordion on a gondola in Venice, Italy equals unparalleled romance. An accordion at a pizza parlor in St. Louis, Missouri equals teenagers running for insecure cover.
