Tame Impala's Orchid is a Synthesizer for Creative Exploration

Tame Impala mastermind Kevin Parker has unveiled the 'Orchid,' a groundbreaking multi-synth instrument designed to spark creativity and expand musical possibilities. Produced by Telepathic Instruments, this 12-key, 16-voice synthesizer was originally conceived by Parker over a decade ago as a personal songwriting tool and has now evolved into an innovative hardware device.

Equipped with three distinct synth engines -- polyphonic analog, FM synthesis, and vintage reed piano emulation -- the Orchid combines advanced sound design with a retro-futuristic aesthetic. Users can explore five performance modes and connect the Orchid to DAWs and other instruments via MIDI, making it a versatile addition to any setup.
With just 1,000 units available in December through Telepathic's website, early adopters will also gain access to 'The Garden,' an exclusive online community to refine the instrument further.
