Transparent Synth Instruments

Telepathic Instruments Releases Clear Orchid: Arctic Synthesizer

Telepathic Instruments, co-founded by Kevin Parker of Tame Impala, introduced Clear Orchid: Arctic, a transparent limited-edition synthesizer. The instrument is part of the Orchid hardware line and features a fully visible internal structure, including its green PCB, speaker assembly, and routed internal cabling. The design emphasizes visibility of internal components as a core aesthetic feature.

The Orchid system is built around a chord-based synthesis layout that separates root notes, chord types, and voicing controls into distinct inputs. It includes a single-octave keyboard, chord selection matrix, and a dedicated voicing encoder that adjusts harmonic positioning across a wide range. The synthesizer incorporates multiple sound engines, including subtractive and FM synthesis, along with a vintage electric piano-style model. It also includes onboard effects, stereo speakers, and a rechargeable battery system. The Orchid ecosystem also includes a companion software plugin called Pistil, designed for use in digital audio workstations.
