Central Coast Biodiversity is an innovative new wildlife app, developed by ecologist and University of Victoria professor Brian Starzmoski, that is designed to make it easier than ever for people in British Columbia, Canada and across the world to learn more about the bountiful natural beauty on show in the area.

The app, available for free download, currently includes an expansive inventory consisting of 210 plants, 80 birds, 120 seaweeds, 190 marine invertebrates and 20 mammals and reptiles. This is the first app to cover such an array of species. Each species listing comes with a photo and information on what the creature or plant looks like, in addition to some odd or unique information about them.

Ultimately, the Central Coast Biodiversity wildlife deftly makes use of app technology to teach people about the biodiversity of British Columbia.
