TREND HUNTER Featured in the Financial Times

Trend Hunter was featured in the Financial Times in an article about the latest interior design trends.  Robyn Waters expects more rooms to be created for very specific purposes, from "gorgeous garages" to spaces for arts and crafts to exercise and yoga rooms. Bathrooms become open-plan "wellness centres" and "relaxation areas", while laundry rooms advance with all-in-one valeting equipment. (Trendhunter.com chooses the new Whirlpool Body Box.) Trendwatching.com describes this as a move toward "insperience", whereby "cocooning" homeowners recreate experiences they enjoy in the outside world. So the old television room is remade not only with a huge plasma screen but also with theatre-style seats and a popcorn machine. The kitchen gets an underfloor wine cellar (or General Electric's 7ft-by-8ft, walk-in wine vault) plus a refrigerator equipped with a beer keg and tap (Edy's Home Pub). The bedroom is kitted out with Westin Hotel's Heavenly Beds (sold through Nordstrom in the US), Firenze lamps from St Regis at Home's Monarch Beach collection and down pillows from Le Parker Meridien.
Trendhunter also points to futuristic geodesic lounges by ZenDome Exclusive Space, which can sit inside the home or office or out in the garden and act as rooms for people to relax or work alone.
