This Quick Sopapillas Recipe Makes a Batch of Sweet Latin-Inspired Treat

Sopapillas are fried pastry treats not unlike donuts that originated in Latin America. This particular sopapilla recipe for a light and sweet take on the treat that can be whipped up in only a few hours. Perfect for entertaining or as a light dessert, this donut recipe will make you a hit as a guest or host.

In order to make your own batch of sopapillas, you will need to acquire all-purpose flour, instant yeast, salt, cinnamon, warm water, softened butter, granulated sugar and honey for garnish and oil for frying them in.

The largest part of the process involves leaving the dough out until it doubles in size, which takes about an hour. Once the quick donuts have been fried, they are dusted with granulated sugar and honey to serve.
