From Opulent Private Islands to Pinot Noir Champagne

With many of the August 2015 luxury ideas, opulence takes an unexpected turn. This includes a lot of unusual collaborations from Rihanna and Stance Socks, the Ritz-Carlton in Hong Kong and Ferrari, as well as a number of renowned celebrity siblings and Balmain.

Consumers are treated to VIP experiences with services like iPic's members-only theaters, the Peninsula hotel supplying Dr. Dre headphones to guests on a silver platter and Le Tricycle's gourmet veggie dog deliveries by bike.

More luxurious updates to food and drinks include the humble Twinkie being turned into a treat worthy of royalty with a black caviar coating. In the same way, McDonald's set up an upscale pop-up restaurant temporarily in Tokyo to transform its fast food menu to high-end offerings. Since these common items are being given luxurious makeovers, luxuries like wine and champagne are being taken to the next level with Armand de Brignac's Blanc de Noirs and the novel blue-hued Gik wine.
