This Weird Ad Announces the Snapchat Snapcash Feature

To announce the launch of the Snapchat Snapcash feature, the social media app released this intentionally bizarre commercial. The new feature allows people to pay using their debit card -- a big move for the platform that lets people take disappearing pictures.

The Snapcash commercial features teens buying a gift for their mother, which quickly turns into a song and dance number with lyrics such as "send money easy, it's oh so breezy" complete with a singing wizard. The unusual Snapchat Snapcash advertisement puts a wacky spin on a subject that is typically seen in a more serious way. Snapcash shows digital payments don't have to be all business with their Broadway-esque campaign.

This new feature is possible due to a partnership with Square.
