Scandinavian Airlines recently embarked on an initiative, the Scandinavian Airlines 'Couple Up to Buckle Up' campaign, to get more couples to sit down and book a trip together. To encourage this, the brand used QR codes as the way in which a couple could get a special 2-for-1 discount on their trip.

Created by agency CP+B, the Scandinavian Airlines 'Couple Up to Buckle Up' campaign involved putting out pairs of QR codes -- they sent them via email, put them up on Facebook and released print ads -- that pairs could scan to receive a code to use for their next booking. The code was only released when the two QR codes were scanned with each of the couple's phones. (The code was split across the couples' phone screens.)
