From Upcycled Skateboard Guitars to Custom Cocktail Kits

Many of the top August 2015 customization ideas come neatly wrapped in some sort of kit or package to make it easy to achieve mass customization, yet give individuals the space to feel as though they've had something bespoke created for them. Examples of this include cocktail kits from William Grant & Sons, LOOP's sneaker kit and the Scent Palette for crafting a completely custom fragrance.

Consumers are also being encouraged to add on to the aesthetics of a brand's identity through packaging like the Boulanger bottle that hosts a game of tic-tac-toe, the Bare Bottle project and even MTV's new identity, which involves a lot of fan-created content.

By kick-starting the creative process with kits, packaged goods and branding, consumers are made to feel like stakeholders in favorite products and services.
