Bydee's Zuri Bahari collection expands resort and swim offering

The new Bydee Zuri Bahari collection is a swim and resort wear range developed by Australian label Bydee, led by founder and creative director Dessy Hairis. The collection was photographed in Zanzibar and introduces three new swim prints alongside an expanded resort offering. The lineup includes bikinis, one-piece silhouettes, dresses, and accessories, supported by a series of 14k gold-plated jewelry pieces designed to accompany the garments.

The collection introduces prints including Zahána, Sarabi, and Ayana, each developed through hand-painted artwork translated into fabric. Zahána features placement-cut designs with embroidery and beading, while Sarabi applies marbled brown tones with crochet edging. Ayana incorporates layered color and detailing with dyed trims. Additional ranges include Makoa, built around darker tonal garments, and Paya, which uses crocheted construction with shell motifs across tops, skirts, and dresses.

Swim styles include the Tanzania One Piece, defined by a square neckline, low scoop back, and high-cut leg. Select pieces feature resin serpent charms and hand-beaded tassel details. The collection also includes handcrafted jewelry using 14k gold plating and natural aventurine stones integrated across necklaces, earrings, and waist chains.

Artisanal Swim Couture
Hand-painted prints combined with embroidery, beading, and crochet detailing point to new value in handcrafted, limited-run swim and resort pieces that premiumize beachwear.
Sustainable Craft Materials
Use of natural stones, shell motifs, and handcrafted techniques suggests material-forward approaches that could replace mass-produced plastics with higher-margin, eco-minded inputs.
Integrated Jewelry-apparel
Designs that pair 14k gold-plated jewelry and waist chains directly with garments indicate opportunities for cross-category product systems that blur apparel and accessory boundaries.
