The Zoom Vaporfly Elite is a new shoe from Nike that was developed to be its "fastest shoe ever," specifically shaped to help athletes achieve sub-two-hour marathon.
The new shoe has been engineered for three athletes—Eliud Kipchoge, Lelisa Desisa and Zersenay Tadese—who are currently training for the Breaking2 race, which is set to happen later this year. While the idea of a sub-two-hour marathon is often discussed, the new aerodynamic shoe from Nike is set to give the runners the push they need to finish a 26.2-mile marathon in under two hours.
Some of the unique features of the footwear style include that it is ultra-lightweight and features a heel that points slightly upwards, which helps a runner to gain momentum going forwards.
