Mangosteen trees produce nutritious fruit but for only a limited amount of time, and in order to make room to plant new trees, the old ones are burned down. Rather than have the tree go to waste, Thai artisans take the old mangosteen trunks, trim, sand, and stain them to give them a new purpose. Since the Yosemite coat racks are made from real tree trunks, each of the coat stands will be completely unique and have varying heights and amounts of "hooks."
