The Yasutaka Yoshimura Architects Hostel is Inspired by Life at Sea

Travelers visiting Japan should make it a point of emphasis to try and stay in the Yasutaka Yoshimura Architects hostel. The Japanese architectural firm constructed this hostel, located on the east coast of Tokyo Bay in Kyonan, which is inspired by shipping containers. Despite its rugged inspiration, the hostel looks nearly as good as a hotel.

Three of the five buildings that make up the Yasutaka Yoshimura Architects hostel are designed to be used as communal areas (bathrooms, dining areas, etc...) and the remaining two units are used as sleeping quarters. The units are split into two stories and can accommodate up to 12 people. Each room was designed to look like a ship's cabin and as such, each one offers a view of the ocean.
