The Wow!grass! Living Carpet Graces the York Minster Cathedral

In celebration of Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee, the floor of the York Minster in England has been transformed using Wow!Grass! to create a outdoor feel inside the building.

The grass floor was specially installed for the York Minster Rose Dinner where some 900 guests will come and enjoy a dinner fit for royalty in the Gothic cathedral.

While the indoor lawn does grow and require both mowing and watering, the unique design of the greenery doesn’t require soil and can easily be rolled up and carted away when it’s no longer needed.

The company has used this living carpet concept for other high-profile public events to bring a taste of the outdoors to an otherwise stuffy indoor event.
