Those in search of eco-friendly travel options in London may be drawn to Inhabit Queen’s Gardens. The new hotel repurposes a crescent of Grade II-listed mid-19th-century Victorian townhouse and features a café, a restaurant, and a lounge area.
In terms of sustainability, the hotel was able to divert just under 100% of all waste from construction from landfills through recycling initiatives. In addition, the building features eco-friendly surfaces and materials such as carefully sourced timber, paper-based fiber composite Richlite, and cork. Moreover, the Inhabit Queen's Gardens boast locally sourced furniture, further reducing its ecological footprint.
"Celebrating and enhancing the existing heritage building and keeping sustainability at the heart of the project inspired subtle but deliberate architectural moves. This careful approach to design brought the concept of the new Inhabit hotel to life," says Maria Gutierrez, senior architect at Holland Harvey, who worked on the project
