Global Handwashing Campaigns

World Health Organization Introduces the World Hand Hygiene Day 2023

World Health Organization (WHO) is launching its Hand Hygiene Day 2023 campaign, encouraging consumers to "build a culture of safety and quality" where hand hygiene is a top priority. The company hopes that educating consumers on appropriate hand hygiene will help to reduce infections and the emergence of antimicrobial resistance in the healthcare industry.

At the heart of the SAVE LIVES: Clean Your Hands initiative is the principle that it is crucial for all healthcare practitioners to appropriately cleanse their hands at the "right time and the right way."

WHO has also provided what they call "campaign essentials," consisting of a hand hygiene guide with tools on how to hand rub and handwash and an advocacy toolkit.
