A vast majority of workplace harassment cases go unreported, and a new AI-infused device entitled 'spot' is helping individuals report these instances anonymously.
Office politics and the fear of judgement are just some of the reasons why these cases go unreported. Realizing these issues with the system, Dylan Mariott and Daniel Nicolae partnered with scientist Dr. Julia Shaw to develop a more reliable system to help victims and by-standers make a report.
Spot is a chatbot that offers a non-judgmental means of disclosing an incident. The device's AI capabilities can respond to an individuals claims with relevant follow-up questions, and will even print a time-stamped copy of the report, should the individual need to follow up in-person. After someone has disclosed an incident, the report will be anonymously emailed to the employer.
