Shanghai-based interior design studio Roomoo has helped to create a simply stunning and unique whiskey bar that makes use of discarded whiskey barrels.
Created to serve as the flagship whiskey bar for Chinese whiskey maker Bacchus, the 'Laizhou Bar' makes use of 6,000 pieces of wood all sourced from oak barrels, with the recognizable metallic rings also incorporated into different elements of the decor. Meanwhile, the entire area makes use of a sizeable ring-shaped structure that comprises 10 layers of wood, with whiskey barrel wood also being utilized in order to forge partitions.
By making use of whiskey barrels to create a marvelously warm and luxurious setting for the 'Laizhou Bar,' the Roomoo Design Studio has well and truly shown that re-using disused material can have stunning aesthetic effects on top of the more obvious benefit of curbing waste.
