Wearable Thermo-Electric Generators

This Wearable Prototype Generates Power From Your Body Heat

A group of researchers and engineers working out of North Carolina State University have developed an extraordinarily high-tech and potentially revolutionary wearable thermo-electric generator that is designed to be more easy to wear and more comfortable than existing prototype solutions.

What's great about this particular thermo-electric generator wearable is the fact that it measures in at only a single square centimeter and is also flexible, so it can be attached to the wearer's skin without being irritating. The generator features a conductive layer that sits flush against the skin and takes in body heat before directing it through the generator.

While this wearable thermo-electric generator can't exactly be used to power up your electric car, it could be used to juice up low-power devices, making an important contribution to energy savings.
