In this crude but poignant ad, comedian Sarah Silverman discusses the wage gap. In an effort to address the discrepancies in pay where women are paid less than men for the same work, the Equal Payback Project is trying to raise enough money to pay American women back what they lose just for being anatomically female. The charitable initiative has a goal of fundraising $29,811,746,430,000 to pay back every working woman in the US. If they fall short, the organization plans to give the donations they receive to the National Women's Law Center.
In the Sarah Silverman wage gap commercial, the actress and writer pretends (with her characteristic raunchy humor) that she is undergoing sexual reassignment surgery because it's easier being a man.
