Located in Wan Chai, Hong Kong, Amooma Spa & Sanctuary is using VR technology to help visitors achieve a more mindful state, by ensuring they de-stress in a more immersive way. While technology has been considered something that can get in the way of inner peace and mindfulness, the spa is embracing it as a means to enhance meditative experiences.
The spa hopes its virtual reality sessions will help participants unwind from their stressful and busy lives and is calling its experiences Sousou. “We are using VR technology to add another dimension to our spa. It offers a quick escape for those in Hong Kong,” says spa manager Ganga Gurung, explaining that Sousou is a Chinese word which means “searching yourself”.
