Voice-Controlled Remotes

Comcast's Voice Remote Takes Commands to Find and Suggest Shows

From universal remote control devices to smartphone remote apps, there are tons of ways to make the TV-browsing experience a little more intuitive—and with the introduction of Comcast's Voice Remote, there's another way.

Although it looks like a regular TV remote control that's topped with the same familiar buttons as most, the Voice Remote is only compatible with the X1 Entertainment Operating System. This remote has a button to enable voice activation, which will take commands spoken in English and perform them. This includes tasks like changing the channel, finding shows and even getting new recommendations for what to watch.

Beyond simple commands like "Watch HBO," this smart remote also answers to more complex questions like: "What's trending?" "When is the next Patriots game?" and "Do you know any shows about home design?"
