Janice Alida plays 'Lister's Lady' in the aptly titled editorial for the Vogue Australia March 2014 issue. The title refers to Anne Lister, a well-to-do 19th century gentlewoman who chronicled her life -- including her passionate affairs with women -- in a coded diary, which is now a historical relic. Now, Alida steps into the big shoes of playing a modern-version of Lister's muse.
The fierce editorial features a graffiti'd urban backdrop, play props (including a bejeweled dagger) and couture-ified battle gear. For a playful twist, Alida sports some colorful face and body paint.
The team responsible for bringing the editorial to life includes photographer Emma Summerton, fashion editor Jillian Davidson and a beauty team comprised of Sophie Roberts (hair,) Linda Jefferyes (make-up) and Fiona Hay (nails).
