The New 'SiME Smart Headphones' Feature a High-Tech Video Display

The Taiwanese developers at 'ChipSiP Technology' have developed a set of video-integrated headphones that combine traditional earbuds with a Google Glass-like video display. Building on the company's original smart glasses product, the new 'SiME Smart Headphones' bring together advanced video and audio features.

Upon first glance, the SiME Smart Headphones appear to be a pair of standard over-the-ear headphones with an additional piece attached. However, the extra attachment is in fact a transparent display, which is intended to provide video entertainment for the wearer. Similar to Google Glass, the built-in video display is connected to the headphones by a rotating hinge, which allows it to pivot up to 180 degrees. The idea behind the product is to use Bluetooth technology to bring immersive video entertainment to the average headphone user.

While the video-integrated headphones are not yet available for sale, the company sees the potential for the product to be used by museums as a hybrid audio and video tour-guide system.
