'Talkspace' Now Provides Patients with Audio & Video Therapy

'Talkspace' is a therapy app that initially provided communication channels between therapists and patients through solely SMS, that has now moved to audio and video therapy as well. The app was designed in order to create a way for people to reap the benefits of therapy without being embarrassed, nervous or even having to leave the comforts of their own home.

In beta form, texting was still the primary form that users chose to communicate in, likely because it is the easiest and least nerve-racking. However, with the new audio and video therapy available, patients will be able to feel a closer, more real connection with their therapist. With this increased trust, the conversations can hopefully deepen and uncover more, benefiting the user more greatly.
