Video game songs have a more profound impact on popular culture than many would think. Even if you can't specifically name the song when you hear it you can immediately recognize it. Musician Chad Neidt takes advantage of this with a one minute mash-up of classic video game songs.
Starting out with the ever popular and culturally significant Pacman, he quickly moves through a variety of older game soundtracks while also filling me with all the feels and nostalgia I can handle.
Hearing them from an acoustic perspective is pretty cool, and some of the songs actually transfer over to acoustic guitar really well. For example, the Metroid song is pretty kickass in-game, but on guitar it sounds particularly epic. Given the fact that most of us don't even know who wrote these songs initially, it's crazy to think of how video game songs have affected us.
