The Venmo app for both Android and iOS now has the ability to deposit checks using its new Cash a Check Feature, where users take a photo of a check to receive their money.
The new Cash a Check feature will work for eligible Venmo app users located in the United States, and the company may launch the feature in other countries at a later date. In most instances cashing a check on the app will take only seconds, however, the company said it could take one hour at most. Venmo also stated that it will waive deposit fees for any users cashing a pandemic stimulus check.
Users can see if they are eligible to use the Venmo Cash a Check feature by downloading the latest version of the Venmo app and ensuring they are running the latest operating system for their mobile device.
