Eco Efficient Homes

This Vancouver Home is the Perfect Family Dwelling

Architect Oliver Lang and Vanglo's Martin Warren are behind this Vancouver home, located at 135 East 17th Avenue.

Considering Vanglo's commitment to sustainable construction, the duo worked together to create one of the most Energy Star efficient homes in the area. The objective of the design was to enhance the environment, inaugurate new design principals and ensure energy efficiency. The architect-builder duo were also conscientious about deconstructing the previous home, transferring most of the waste materials to a facility that turns wood into bioethanol.

The new home built in its place features a multi-faceted exterior and complex geometry, which, together, creates a fully flexible home. Warren explains, “With the unique property setting, we knew we had to be creative and maximize the space to its full potential without compromising the design and I think we have achieved that."
