Bureau de Change Designs the Artful Uxbridge Bower Home

Architecture studio Bureau de Change is the mind behind the Uxbridge Bower home. The entrance is defined by chamfered arches that welcome guests to the art deco space in West London. The building features an extra ensuite bedroom which is designed to welcome the owner's mother and grandmother when they fly in to visit from Greece. The founders of the studio, Katerina Dionysopoulou and Billy Mavropoulos also moved to London from Greece.

Billy Mavropoulos speaks on the design to Dezeen, "The house is located in a suburb developed in the 1920s and 30s, with surprising and quirky art-deco details like stepping windows and porches, and bold geometric patterns. [The house is described as] "a granny annexe like no other. We started with a simple post and lintel structure, chamfered the connection between columns and roof, then created a zigzag stepping to the chamfer. These moves unite the two elements into one."
