Spotting Empty Pools for Trespassing

— June 21, 2008 — Pop Culture
Oh those clever kids! Daily Mail reports that 500 were part of a Facebook group geared at using Google Earth to plan trespassing pool parties.

Of course the owners of the home know nothing about the party until they return to find a pool full of beer cans and love socks.

In the invitation, partiers are encourage to "bring a bike" for a quicker get-away. Who told those kids to get outside and have some fun anyway, huh?

Implications - This is a hilarious example of how the miracle of technology has changed youth behavior. While before, you would have to know someone had a pool by peering over their fence, Google Maps has made it easier for troublesome youth to meddle. Ain't that something.
