Furniture is often taken too seriously by the owner, chosen primarily for a balance between performance and aesthetics, with little consideration for the true character of a piece. These Ushanki Shelf-Lamps demonstrate how real that third category is, embodying personality beyond the physical and artistic qualities of regular household objects.
There are three shelves in the collection by the Decorkuznetsov Studio, a small, a medium and a large. The biggest one provides two ledges for the storage of assorted items, while the tinier two offer a single cubbyhole each of different dimensions. All three furnishings assume a mod cartoony form with their bright blue paint, curved corners, playful elevations and funny four-legged supports. The icing on the cake of these Ushanki Shelf-Lamps is their second function of providing illumination from within.
