Developed for smart functionality, the Up shelving system features easily adjustable sliding shelves that securely lock into place. The shelving unit, which was made by industrial designer Alexandra Gerber, is made up of sturdy metal siding with a thin groove running the length of the unit. This groove facilitates the up and down sliding action used to adjust the position of the shelves. The Up shelving system's sliding action does not affect the other shelves, meaning the unit can be modularly transformed at will.
Drawing inspiration from the window industry, the Up shelving system has a quick-release lock that makes moving and securing the shelves easy. The ensemble has a simplistic yet functional design that appeals to practically-minded consumers.
